Context
This prediction market asks whether OpenAI will achieve an initial public offering valuation between $1.25 trillion and $1.5 trillion. The market resolves based on the final offering price per share multiplied by the total fully diluted shares outstanding, as disclosed in the SEC final prospectus before the December 31, 2027 deadline.
Anticipation around major artificial intelligence company public offerings has intensified as rivals like Anthropic file for their own major IPOs targeting massive valuations. Financial platforms have begun introducing pre-IPO futures and CFD trading for both Anthropic and OpenAI ahead of expected US listings.
Key factors include the official SEC prospectus filing and fully diluted share counts at the time of the offering. If OpenAI fails to complete an IPO by the end of 2027, the market will resolve to its lowest bracket.

How this market resolves (Polymarket rules)
This market will resolve according to the implied equity valuation of OpenAI at its initial public offering (IPO) price. The IPO valuation is defined as the final IPO price per share multiplied by the total number of shares outstanding on a fully diluted basis, as disclosed in the final prospectus filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The IPO price will be the final offering price to the public as stated in the final prospectus. Trading prices after listing, including the opening trade, intraday prices, or closing price on the first day of trading, will not be considered.
