Context
This prediction market asks whether the official U-3 US unemployment rate, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, will reach at least 5.5 percent in any month throughout 2026. Recent reports indicate that US weekly unemployment claims have fallen to their lowest level since July and continue to hover near multi-decade lows. Meanwhile, other economic indicators show that US employment costs rose 0.8 percent in the third quarter, matching forecasts as wage pressures cool.
